Vagabonde III
Vagabonde III, of the dismountable wooden canoe family This vessel from 1886 belongs to the family of dismountable wooden canoes. The hull is wooden, covered with canvas. It can be folded into a parcel of 3m length, weighing 23kg, and can be easily transported by train. The captain, sitting in the cockpit, puts his things in the trunk. An outrigger or floater ensures for its stability. Vagabonds III is exceptional in that it used to belong to an adventurer. It allowed captain Lancrenon to lead expeditions on the rivers Rhone, Garonne, Loire, Seine and Danube. Dismountable wooden canoes were the first leisure boats on rivers.
