The Dolores is a “dorna”, a typical boat from Galicia (Spain). Built in 1928 for a fisherman from the Island of Arosa, it was propelled by sails or oars and was capable of carrying 1 or 2 men on rough seas. The hull is made from 4 or 5 clinkered pinewood planks which are only 12mm thick. The fairly narrow stern comprises a flat rear board. The rudder extends under the hull and measures around 2.50 m. It is rigged with a dipping lug, “Celtic”, sail with a horizontal yard and an advancing tack point.
