The Bleuette was part of a dinghy series, created in 1933 by the encourage popular regattas. This prototype, the only one surviving, designed and constructed by Gustave Hamel, won most regattas in 1939. It is pretty, elegant and light. Materials of the highest quality are used: mahogany for the planks, acacia for the ribs, spruce for the masts, the boom and the oars, Egyptian cotton for the sails. The architect paid particular attention to the finishing: narrow clinker planking, copper riveting and fully varnished hull.
