The red factory

The red factory : This fish canning factory can be identified by its red brick frontage and concrete pillars. One of the first buildings to be made from reinforced concrete, it became a factory of Gaston Chancerelle et Compagnie in 1926. Its activities ceased in 1970. The smoke emitted by the high chimneys and the industrial waste dispersed in the environment are aspects which marked the town of Douarnenez.
