The wreck of Kervigen
While the bay of Douarnenez sheltered hundreds of sardine luggers at the beginning of the 20th century, there are none left today apart from this wreck which is called Wreck of Kervigen, discovered on the beach that gives it its name, in 1984. It probably dates from 1910-1915. Around 1920, the luggers progressively disappeared with technology evolving.... It wasn’t until recently that interest into maritime heritage began, and at the time nobody thought of keeping obsolete boats. Two reconstructions based on surveys of the wreck have been built: Telenn Mor et An Eostig.
